Welcome to the new look website of the Royal Astronomical Society of New Zealand.
The old website served us well for many years and we appreciate the hard work of the past web masters who kept the content up to date. Technology has moved on so we are taking advantage of new tools to provide a more dynamic site better able to serve our RASNZ members and provide material to users of the site generally.
Hey! How did I get here?
First things first, please take the time to create an account. For RASNZ members this will opens up a members only section of the website where you can download the latest Southern Stars journal. Over time we will add various RASNZ documents to the site for member's use and provide new tools as we develop them.
If you are not a RASNZ member now would be a good time to sign up for membership. You can do this using the online membership application form found under the RASNZ heading.
If you are an affiliated member of RASNZ registering will mean that we can email you directly the E-News each month; we will also be able to keep you informed of upcoming events.
We are here to help
The new website has been built from scratch so there are a few transition problems:
- some of the content from the old site is not in place yet. We hope we have the most popular pages from the old site, but we are bound to have missed a few. Let us know and we will increase their priority in the to do list.
- bookmarks you have for the old site may not work with the new site. Tell us about any bookmarks you have for the old site that don't work any more and we will fix them where we can.
- there may be broken links. Although the site is new, much of the content was copied from the old site so there may be a few broken links that have been inherited or that are due to things being in a different place on the new site. Tell us and we will fix them!
Take some time to have a look around, and come back again soon as we develop and grow the site.
